The technology that Meta and Apple are pursuing: Smart Lenses with Augmented Reality

Smart Lenses with Augmented Reality is the technology that Meta and Apple are working on

  • Mojo Vision could soon launch a prototype of smart lenses with augmented reality.
  • Augmented reality stands as an essential tool for event agencies in a 'low touch' environment.

The Californian company Mojo Vision could launch sooner rather than later a prototype of smart contact lenses that it has baptized as Mojo Lens, with the most developed augmented reality technology in the world.  The device has pioneering features in the technological world, a race in which the main technology companies such as Meta or Microsoft compete.

Smart lenses could make mobile phones disappear, since in the case of Mojo Lens, they include dynamic screen - the smallest in the world -, low latency communication and an eye-controlled user interface.  It could be said that it offers us functions similar to those of an iPhone.

These lenses have been developed with Invisible Computing technology, which would make them "the world's first truly intelligent contact lens", as the company claims.  Augmented reality consists of superimposing information on the real world, something that Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, described as the next great revolution.

Those responsible for the development of these lenses declare that "we have advanced hardware innovations in the areas of display, communications, power and eye tracking."  This state-of-the-art computing experience could revolutionize the technological world, working as a hands-free system with the same functions as a smartphone.

It is true that, as the company says, "nothing points as fast or as precisely as your gaze", something that together with the ultra-precise eye tracking of Mojo Lens makes it possible to interact instantly with the content in augmented reality.  Mojo Vision has not wanted to venture to specify a release date but it is possible that the Mojo Lenses will not take long to hit the market.
