Here are some exciting anime movies coming out in 2022, from remakes to originals

In addition to your Hollywood release dates and cinematic universe releases, there are tons of new anime movies coming out in 2022.  From remakes of old series to sequels of our beloved franchise to completely new and exciting titles, there is a lot of cinematic in the world of Japanese animation.  Experience to offer this year.  As if waiting for the new show wasn't enough, we are still eagerly waiting to see some of these upcoming movies.

The year coincides with the US theatrical release of Jujutsu Kaisen 0.  After premiering in Japan in December 2021 with ticket sales of over three billion yen, the film debuted in the US in March 2022 with another spectacular opening weekend.  The film reportedly finished second at the US box office upon its release, surpassing The Batman.

Can any other 2022 anime film release stand up to the success of Jujutsu Kaisen 0?

Here are some anime movies coming out in 2022

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

Z-Fighters returns in a new, fully 3D-animated film.  The infamous Red Ribbon Army returns with highly advanced androids called Gamma 1 and Gamma 2.  Dangerous new androids target Goku and his loved ones in a battle for vengeance that will push the Z-Fighters to their limits.  The film was originally released in April in Japan and in the US.  It is currently still scheduled for 2022.

One Piece Film Red

In addition to the upcoming Netflix adaptation, the world-famous One Piece franchise is getting another animated film this summer.  The film follows the Straw Hat Pirates as they attend a concert on an uncharted island.  Some of the film's teasers place a strong emphasis on Monkey D. Luffy's childhood hero Shanks as well as a new female character.

One Piece film Red is currently scheduled to release on 6th August.

RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM

This two-part film series retells the story of the 2011 oddball surrealist anime gem.  The overall story remains the same, with two brothers tasked with searching for a "penguindrum" in exchange for receiving treatment for their sister's terminal illness.  Disease.  Although many plot details are similar, this new film series will feature several visual updates to differentiate it from the original anime.

The first film will premiere in Japan on April 29.

Bubble

This exciting new anime film comes from the director and lead writer of Madoka Magica for the first three seasons of Attack on Titan.  Tokyo is cut off from the outside world and placed in a dimension where gravity is completely broken.  As the survivors engage in high-profile battles to claim their ruined city, a young man encounters a mysterious girl with strange powers that can turn the world upside down.

Bubbles streams worldwide on Netflix on April 28.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Guren no Kizuna-hen

The popular isekai anime is getting its first theatrical anime movie.  The film follows the demon lord Rimuru Tempest and his Jura Tempest Federation.  Rimiru and his consort arrive in a strange western country ruled by a mysterious queen.

The film will be released in Japan in November.
